Dad mentioned Liverpool playing this Sunday. I cannot believe how long it's been since I watched a whole football game (excl. Singapore) on TV. But I have to admit, the holidays/off season period I've sort of lost the interest in football ever so slightly. I don't hate the sport any less of course but it's like, that passion has semi burnt out. So, hopefully come Sunday I'll revert back after watching LFC's first game back. It's gonna be so weird without Xabi around now :(

Haven't done anything productive since uni started and that's gonna reflect on how much ass kicking I need. I'm gonna start working on them assignments on Saturday. Promise. I can already hear a group of people laughing behind me and in my head.

I'll be trying out for an internship in Dubai at the end of the year. Thanks to Kazi who's working at a British magazine company specialising in Advertising. He extended me and Kinna an offer to go with him. He also is staying at a place there with the rent being 70% off! So we're looking into living expenses while in Dubai. Mum and Dad gave me the green light too. If it all works out, I'll be working there from Dec - Jan/Feb. ZOMG Dubai.

Shall have dinner with the amigos then go for an evening jog and then come home and pass out. ciao. Hope everyone's enjoying their TGIFs.

Mmm, damn I miss eating these. We had some in Australia in abundance due to my aunts neighbours tree which was overbearing with fruit. All we had to do was stand in the backyard and wait for them to fall. Lulz. August is rolling in, Spring will be here any time now.



Classes officially start tomorrow (actually, today) and I have no idea when or what my first class is. Uni decided to be a jackass and not release our timetable till Monday/today. And so I don't even know if it's in the afternoon or morning and I could be wasting my entire day away there. How useless.

Sad thing is, on the eve of my return to uni, my body decides to play a cruel prank and fall sick. I'm suffering a rather harsh cough and sorethroat and all I can hope out of it is that I gain an awesome deep scratchy voice ... because it sounds smexy. LOL. But really though, I really feel the need to get myself a mask for classes. I don't want to get any sicker and I don't wanna spread what I have too.

Another shitty thing is that my gag reflex has been on the fritz as of late. I occasionally feel the need to hurl and when in public, perhaps not a good feeling to go through. I blame the damn cough. Lovely timing la Alison.

Please don't invite me for anymore dinners unless it's at a mamak or some chinese hawker center. My wallet needs to bulk up. But it was all in good fun and I loved it. I miss hanging out with them all at a go.

Ah, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. No other movie franchise (cept Lord of the Rings I guess) can get me freaking out about making it on the day of its release.

I still don't know what to think about it. On the one hand, cinematography and how the film was directed was well done. I loved how David Yates worked the angles of the scenes and the score of the music seemed to fit right in (especially Malfoy's scenes). I shall be downloading this soundtrack soon obviously. Cast wise, I love Jim Broadbent in all his roles he's done and perhaps as Slughorn, he did a pretty good job too, but he's not what I pictured Slughorn to look like :( Oh well. What was interesting was Gemma Jones aka Madam Pomfrey was his wife in Bridget Jones so I thought that was cute LOL.



Particular parts I loved were Malfoy's scenes because it's rare you see the movies focusing on him. I really loved Felton's acting in this one and felt more sorry for Malfoy than I did when I read the book. Snape will always be Snape. Alan Rickman is one of the best cast chosen for the movie series. When he killed Dumbledore, tears were so threatening to burst out of my eyes but I held it together in fear of being mocked LOL.

The cave scene was meh. But there were parts of it which were top notch ala Dumbledore's massive flame. Oh! And I love, love, love the boy they chose to play Tom Riddle both at age 11 and 16. So I looked them up. Did you know that the 11 year old Riddle is Ralph Fiennes' nephew (Hero Tiffin Fiennes) and was chosen for that role because of his resemblance to his uncle? And he has a brother called Titan and a sister called Mercy? Dayum those are some pretty out there names ey? Frank Dillane who played Riddle at 16 is actually 20 years old. Phew.

But I really wish they had filmed the fight scene at Hogwarts. With the teachers and students vs the Death Eaters :( I was so looking forward to it. Also Bill and Fleur but we all knew they were never gonna make it into the movies. Also Lupin and Tonk's conflicted romance (aside from her "sweetheart" line). I thought she was emo-ing over Remus in this one >__>

+ I found Cormac rather hot. *twiddles thumbs*

Finally get to watch it. We're booked for the 5PM show at Pyramid today. I know it's mad but I don't mind because I know if I don't watch now, I'll put it off till the last few days of it's screening like I have with most movies. (That's how I never got to watch Night at the Museum 2 *sadface*)

I've come to realise how UNPRODUCTIVE I've been all holiday. I haven't been earning muneyz and I haven't been working on anything art-wise. Besides the mere fact I took plenty of photos on trips around the place. But I don't really consider that work. Photography may be the art of capturing the beauty in things we see around us; but when you have to come up with something that is stunning and simply isn't there, that's something I am just unable to do.

I dread August all the same. I don't think I'm mentally prepared to go back to uni just yet. I can't come up with any creative ideas for anything let alone a deadline. I'm thoroughly screwed come August. I think they might have raised the toll prices too so I really need to sort out my schedule for next semester so I can be in Cyberjaya as little as I can or the hole in my pocket will spread to my skin and into my very bone. Either that or I'll have to stay over in Cyber once every week or something. (I hear some cheering somewhere)

Anyway, Fernando Torres became a father today (or was it yesterday?) to a baby girl Nora. Olalla gave birth in Spain. Ah well, another girl for Jon Alonso to chase after LOL. Kinda makes me wonder if he'll come to Singapore later this month, being a first timer dad and all. I really hope he does. Heck he can bring Nora if he wants to [/delusional]. The MJ mania still hasn't lifted as every moment spent watching CNN has been devoted to the late King of Pop. I don't even need to tune into CNN, all I need to do is sit in front of Nisha. She's taken his death somewhat personally and has been GLUED to news about him ever since. It's amazing. She better get over it soon or she's gonna drive us all mad with her constant "Did you know Michael ..." or "Turn on Youtube and watch this video of Michael" ... LOL

We all love you Nisha but you've gotta quit while you're ahead. We all miss him but it's time to let him finally rest in peace.

Went to Pyramid with Looi yesterday to watch Transformers 2. I haven't been to the movies since Underworld 3. I have mixed views about the movie but I would lean more towards the positive side to it. As much as it was a boom boom pow all action movie, it was still fun to watch. I don't know why people said there's no plot to it. There was definite plot and I was completely fine with it. The effects were amazing as usual and I guess the guys were happy they got to see Megan Fox run around the desert sweaty and in dangerously low cut tops. Har har.



Downside to it was that some scenes had way too many robots/transformers/whatever that you couldn't tell who was who. You got Decepticons who aren't all evil, you got prehistoric ones, current ones, dead ones, live ones, stupid ones, smart ones, hugeass ones, tiny ones etc ... end of the day I was like "who's this again?" But I still like this movie and I'd watch it again ... just not too soon.

Days are getting better now I suppose. Not as many arguments. I think they know to back the hell off now. I think I have a new found & somewhat delayed appreciation for Atif Aslam's music. Not all his stuff appeals to me of course. Just the slower numbers. I think when you hear it continuously for some time, it begins to grow on you. There's some stuff I'll never like though but his songs aren't all that bad. Damn you Sociology/Anthropology/The Nanny Diaries for putting these scenarios in my head. I feel the need to write a massive thesis on this when this chapter of my life has passed me by.

We're going to Penang in about a week for a few days for a mini break and ... I guess to rediscover my 'Peranakan' roots. We're staying at the Copthorne Hotel which looks pleasantly decent. Mum said it's a 4 star hotel so it can't be all that bad. I'm gonna hit the pool obviously as I've taken a deep liking for swimming lately (but having Kinna around makes it better LOL). Also, we'll be hitting the markets for food. How can you go to Penang and not discover all the good food there is. I'm still wondering if I should bring the laptop along or just be disconnected from the www. while I'm gone. Hmm.

Went to Cyber again yesterday thanks to Thinesh/T-man who drove me and Nisha down. ("Can get to Cyber without paying a single toll you know"). Met up with Kinna and her friend Ika. Her apartment's electricity had been cut off due to late payments in bills but it was back up by 5PM thankfully. I remember those nights. Yes. Not good.

Anyway, me and Nisha went over to Ziad and Adeel's place. We/I finally watched Slumdog Millionaire on Ziad's laptop. It makes me appreciate the soundtrack so much more now of course. Ika and Kinna came along but didn't stay long because Kinna had basketball practise. Then Thinesh came back with the both of them after an hour or so. Everyone hung out then the rest of us left for dinner at Saba' (again) while the guys stayed back to watch cricket (go figure). It was a rather big dinner party though. Kinna, Ika, Nisha, Myself, Devina, Shaz, Ibrahim, Sami, Sanat and Usman. Bumped into Izzy on the way there too. That's someone I haven't met in a while. Wonder how Bob from Libya is doing. LOL. Papa took me and Nisha home :) I left my sunnies in the loo which Devina thankfully found. haha. I'm that lame.

Also, KG comes home today! WHOMG! I cannot, CANNOT wait to meet him.
