If I had to recommend 2 movies to anyone, well OK not just anyone but anyone who I know will appreciate these kinds of movies, I'd tell them to watch Julie & Julia as well as The 500 Days of Summer. They're both very different in more ways than one but share this sort of common bond between how they effect their audience. A little bit of inspiration and also reality included as to what you'll come out with after watching. With Julie and Julia, I found myself really upbeat towards the end. Just wanting to do something for me. Sorta like what Julie did with her blog. It makes a little bit more optimistic without falling over the edge.

500 Days of Summer makes you realise, not everything ends in fairy tale. Not everything is what you want. Best of all, it taught me that in a realistic way. There were no overblown SFX or massive orchestrated soundtracks. Just simple daily life matters which touch the heart and hit home when we can all say "I've been there". You really can with this movie. I watched this movie on the plane home from Australia while Anne watched Julie and Julia. The other movie which I caught on the way home was Dostana.

The next movie I'll be wanting to catch is My Name is Khan. I've heard many good reviews about this movie. It's been years since Shahrukh and Kajol were in a movie together. I guess I'll watch this with Ziad at Sunway if there is time. I don't think I'm ready to walk alone into a cinema where I find myself the only Chinese girl yet. LOL. I will tell you it is hillarious.

Painted 3 images of Che Guevara for Ziad and Khalid. Of course they paid me for the materials. I'm really glad with the results I got. It's been a while since I held onto a paintbrush. It was really refreshing. However I will admit I screwed up one of the paintings (in fact, the very one in the above image) for Ziad. I won't mention what happened but it just wasn't pretty. Oh well.

Spent last night at Patio (formerly known as Tanjung Bistro) with Anne, Kavi, Nisha, Yee Mun, Aroon, Luke, Bushan and Zhi Wei. It was a fun gathering as usual, till the phone lit up with the dreaded message of "when will you be home?" from Mum. I'm not saying I'm not used to this. Happens every time I step out of the house, especially at twilight hours. However, the happy bubble was burst when she told me the latest I was expected home was 11.15PM. Sounds like a joke for a person who's about to turn 21 and has lived out for over a year before.

On the other hand, I wanted to leave anyway. I wasn't feeling so much in the zone and just wanted to be alone. I don't know why. It was probably just an off day. I was more content in sitting in my living room watching TV. But I had a very good time anyway and was glad for everyone who showed up. Including those of who I did not expect to turn up *winks*. But I think I'm gonna call it quits for a while and lay low. I need to prep myself before I go back to LKW next x 2 week for payment and registration. I also vowed to be 60kgs (Oh yeah I said that) by the time uni starts and I don't expect that goal to be met if I'm downing teh ais-es and roti telurs half the time. Yes? LOL. And I'll be taking a trip to the saloon on Monday for the well expected haircut and dye. Dum dum dum.

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year folks. Good luck in the year of el tigre! :D
